Boys Trip 2015

Boys Trip 2015 was a road trip to Utah.  We spent four days hiking Zion and Bryce Canyon.  Then we went to Salt Lake City to watch the Michigan Wolverines football team play the Utah Utes.  It was Tyson's first Wolverine game.  We also visited the Dino museum in Salt Lake City.  Here are some pics and memories from the trip.

August 28th
We began our road trip early in the morning.  We drove most of the day and spent the night in a hotel inTwin Falls, Idaho.  We ate dinner at Buffalo Wild Wings.  Tyson read books and played video games during most of the drive.  We also talked about our upcoming adventures.

Day 2 was spent mostly driving as well.  We started out the morning with a hearty IHOP breakfast and a beautiful view in Twin Falls.  Then, we drove to our campsite at Camp Lutheran.
Happy pancake.  Happy Tyson.

Our first day exploring was spent at Zion National Park.  The big hike was the Narrows hike through the canyon.  Most of the hike was through a river, even up to Tyson's waste at times.  There was a short, but heavy rainstorm that hit as we were hiking the last 1/4 mile out.  Tyson was sure that a flash flood was imminent.

We hiked in Bryce Canyon.  We hiked to some landmarks set by the park and received a free prize after finding three of them.  Lots of hiking in the heat today.

Another day in Bryce Canyon.  We headed out later in the day with the intent to do a hike or two and stay for sunset.  We hiked a tough hike called Hat Shop.  Then we ate our dinner in the parking lot and watched the sunset.  We spent the morning at the campground playing.

We broke camp in the morning and drove to Salt Lake City.  After checking in to the hotel, we grabbed some pizza for dinner and headed to Rice-Eccles Stadium to cheer on the Wolverines.  They lost, but we had a blast.
